| Anglican ordination candidates
Bishopdale Theological College is open to students
from all denominations and backgrounds. It has, however,
a specific vision within its overall purpose to provide
a place of theological learning and ministry formation
for those considering a call to ordination
for ministry within the Anglican Church.
If you hope to apply for Anglican ordination, you are strongly encouraged
to complete the full Bachelor of Ministries or Bachelor of Theology degree.
Students already accepted for ordination training
by their Anglican Bishop will be assisted to comply with the requirements laid down by the accepting
Bishop. College staff will liaise with each Bishop to ascertain these requirements and will make
regular reports on progress to that Bishop.
Ordination students from other denominations
Bishopdale Theological College welcomes you and will
seek to assist you in fulfilling
requirements for training and learning as prescribed
by your denomination. As with all students, you will be helped to achieve your goal
to gain a theological education and equip yourself to serve
God's people.
Graduate Diploma in Theology (Ministry)
Starting in 2011, BTC is leading the way with a special version of the Graduate Diploma designed for those with an existing qualification in theology wanting to undertake more advanced and specialised studies in areas in both theology and ministry development. Within this framework, a selection of courses is being created specifically addressing areas of innovative and pioneering Anglican ministry.
When taken for academic credit towards a Graduate Diploma qualification (through Laidlaw College), a total of 120 credit points (8 courses) is required, selected from a specific range of course offerings and customised on a case by case basis.
In most instances these courses will be offered as one week block intensives. Courses may be also undertaken on a non-formal basis.
