BTC Timetable - 2012 Semester One

In 2012 we are offering taught courses and face-to-face tutorials at Bishop Eaton House, 30 Vanguard St, Nelson, each week during each semester, except for weeks of exam preparation and examination weeks.

A comprehensive timetable will be issued to all students and enquirers in December 2011.

Daytime classes will be scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays with some classes
being held on Monday and /or Tuesday evenings.

Morning sessions will usually be between 9–10.50 and 11.10–1pm with morning tea from 10.50–11.10.
Afternoon sessions are usually between 1.30 and 3.20pm and /or 3.40 pm and 5.30pm.

Evening Classes are usually 7 – 9pm.

Special courses may be run at times other than scheduled timetable hours.

Bishopdale Theological College reserves the right to withdraw the offer of a course if enrolments fall
below an educationally appropriate level..

Exams will be scheduled in June & November

BTC Intensives

There will be two intensives on offer in 2012 (see below).

Usual CDL course fees, deadlines, and regulations apply. BTC reserves the right to withdraw a course if enrolments are too low for effective teaching.

BTC is not able to offer accommodation onsite but does offer some financial assistance to cover this.

For more information please email (Sue Patterson) registrar@bishopdale.ac.nz

Community Events

BTC is not a residential college but it seeks to foster community life among students and staff. Opportunities for shared meals and for community worship and prayer are a core part of the College
programme.

In many ways the title of a popular book on prayer says it all: “Too busy not to pray” (Bill Hybels, IVP).
That is certainly true for us as a college community as well, and it is something we need to be more
intentional about. We each need to weigh carefully our priorities and make a commitment in this area
that reflects our conviction that gathering to worship is of the essence in being a Christian community.

Whilst we recognise everyone has differing circumstances and not everyone is in a position to gather with us, we do hope all will give consideration to the importance of this, wherever possible.

Daily Prayer: Daily Prayers are held Monday to Wednesday at 8.45am (Tutorial Room 1)

Monthly chapel service:
All Saints Church Foyer: 11–12.30. The service is followed by lunch provided by BTC at the College. All welcome.

Weekly BYO lunch: Monday at 1pm. It is good for us to gather together around the meal table on some sort of regular basis. This is also an occasion for notices, announcements and (most importantly) celebrations! Please note many students and tutors are also around on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for lunch and this is a good opportunity to catch up as well.

Librarian Hours:  Mon-Wed 10.00am-4.00pm These hours may be varied in 2012.

Administrative Assistant:  Tues-Thurs  10.00-12.00
