Grab hold of this opportunity to upskill for ministry and mission this summer by studying a biblical language!

Bishopdale College, in partnership with Laidlaw College, are offering Greek 1 and Hebrew 1 in Summer Semester 2026 - 2027. This is followed by Greek 2 and Hebrew 2 in Semester 1 2027.

These accredited courses are ideal for undergraduate students who want to get ahead with Greek or Hebrew, for masters students who missed out on doing one of the Biblical languages and now need it, and for those who simply want to learn how to study the Scriptures with greater depth and understanding.

You will learn to read the text, understand Greek/Hebrew vocabulary and grammar, and develop your skills in how to faithfully read and interpret the New Testament (Greek) and/or Old Testament (Hebrew).

Summer Semester:
108.515 Greek 1
Intensive classes: 23 - 27 November 2026.

106.515 Hebrew 1
Intensive classes: 30 November - 4 December 2026.

with weekly Zoom tutorials until 19 February (time to be arranged to suit students), with a 5 week Christmas break.

Semester 1 2027:

NOTES ABOUT THE INTENSIVES

Students are strongly encouraged to attend the intensive in Nelson in person if they are able to do so. Bishopdale College can assist with finding accommodation - either with a member of the College community, or in local accommodation options.

Intensives are just that - intensive! You should plan to spend your morning in class, and your afternoon revising and completing set homework, from Monday-Friday.
